13th Apr â 15th Apr: West Country Cup
Newquay Sports Centre plays host to footballs West Country Cup. This outstanding event is one of Britain's foremost Easter competitions, emphasising international football and family fun. Based in Newquay, one of Europe's leading holiday resorts, the tournament attracts teams from all over the UK. Teams from Europe and the USA have also participated in the tournament. The 2010 West Country Cup event brought together 60 teams from 30 different clubs! The competition provides an unforgettable and unique international family atmosphere for young players, parents and friends with a passion for the world's most popular game.

30 April 2011: English National Surfing Championships
One of Europe's oldest (and with over 300 entrants, largest) surfing competitions, the English Nationals returns to Watergate Bay for an eighth year. Pro surfers will be strutting and preening to win national titles in 24 divisions, which range from the prestigious (Open) to the obscure (Kneeboard, Stand-Up Paddlesurf).
7th May â 8th May: Zapcat Racing Championship
Round One and Two of the 2011 Zapcat Racing Championship takes place on Fistral Beach on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th May. Come along and witness these super-powered, twin-hulled catamarans leap and twist out of the water. Two full days of Zapcat Racing. A great family spectacle!

8th May: Trevornick 10 Mile Race
Newquay Road Runners stage the Trevornick 10 Mile Race at Cubert on Sunday 8th May 2011. Starting at 11.30am the race will take in the stunning coastal areas of Trevornick, Cubert Common, West Pentire Headland and Polly Joke. Come along to watch or even take part! 27th May â 30th May: Run to the Sun 2011
Run to the Sun held it's first event way back in 1987 and has grown into one of the largest Custom Car, VW and dance festivals in Europe since its conception. Run to the Sun is a 3 day event spread over 2 sites in Newquay;
Trevelgue Holiday Park which is the main event site and the Show 'n' Shine competition is on Sunday 29th May (venue to be confirmed). 3 nights of live entertainment complete with DJ's, visual performers and laser shows. 5 different Arena's provide venues for live bands, music, stand-up comedy, chilled-out tunes, acoustic sessions and even a Morph Tent! 28 May 2011: Lusty Glaze Night Surf
Legendary rockers REEF will be headlining this incredible event, which includes Carve Surf Magazines flying fish retro surf contest, which will be running throughout the day, till the sun goes down - hog roasts, BBQs, tipis and other bands TBA. Watch the pro surfers tear it up whilst rocking out to REEF with a cold drink and toes between the sand.
5th June: Newquay Mayor's Civic Parade
The Mayor of Newquay will be supported by local councillors and organisations for this Civic Parade through the Town Centre on Sunday 5th June 2011. Newquay Band will be providing musical support and the parade will conclude with a service at St. Michael's Church. Everyone is invited to come along and cheer on this special day.

25th June: Midsummer Classic
World class longboard surfers will be on display during this event. According to the British Longboard Union (BLU)âs secretary Vic Danks, the growth in popularity of the sport is down in part to the success of British longboarders on the world stage. Surfers will compete in six divisions this year. In addition to the Open, Women, Junior (under 18) and Masters, there are new divisions for Under 16 Boys and Under 16 Girls - both of which have been heavily subscribed in the two previous events this year.

3rd July: Newquay Grand Carnival Parade 2011
This years theme for Newquay Carnival 2011 is "Rock 'n' Roll".
The carnival starts at Tregunnel Car Park at 7pm (Registration before 5.50pm). Parade walkers can join the Carnival at Sainsbury's car park at 7:20pm. The Carnival will then parade through the centre of Newquay, ending at Chester Road Market. The float judging will take place at Tregunnel car park at about 6:15pm and the walkers will be judged at 6:30pm at Sainsbury's. Venue: Newquay Town Centre
10th July 2011: Rip Curl Grom Search Surf Competition
In 2010 the Rip Curl Gromsearch is growing with 9 European stops. The contest will take place from May to October 2010 in 5 different countries (Ireland, UK, France, Spain, Portugal) with the UK heat held at Fistral Beach in July.
17th July: Newquay Lions Sandcastle Competition

Newquay Band perform on the Killacourt on Sunday 7th August 2011, as part of the Killacourt Summer Concerts supported by Newquay Town Council Attendance is free and everyone is welcome to show their appreciation of our very own Town Band, formed in 1856 and still performing for visitors and residents, in the beautiful surroundings of the Killacourt.

7th August: Newquay RNLI Lifeboat Day at the Harbour
Newquay harbour and seas will be buzzing with activity from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday 7th August 2011 for the RNLI Lifeboat Day. Choose from musical entertainment, factual safety information, raffles, BBQ or face painting. If none of that takes your fancy then you could watch one of the continuous supply of rescue demonstrations from the RNLI lifeboats and RNLI lifeguards. Newquay RNLI fundraisers also provide a cake stall, bric a brac and a teddy bear's picnic tombola as well as refreshments. Everyone is welcome to come along to the harbour and support this vital voluntary life saving service.

10th Aug â 14th August: Relentless Boardmasters 2011
The Relentless Boardmasters is run across two locations, Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay.
Fistral Beach is home to the surf, skate, BMX and many others activities between 10am and 7pm each day. On Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings the Fistral Beach Bar re-opens at 7:30pm with live music till midnight. These gigs are the only ticketed events at Fistral Beach.

9th â 11th Sept: Newquay Fish Festival 2011
The event showcases one of Newquays hidden gems 'the harbour' and has proven an extremely popular event with both residents and visitors. The practical cookery demonstrations by local chefs are undoubtedly the highlight of the festival, with hotels and restaurants being able to promote local fresh fish and shellfish and locally available produce. Also you'll find food tasting, talks and boat trips. Fantastic fun for all the family.

9th September: Crantock Bale Push 2011
The Crantock Bale Push is a fun event for all ages. The races are run in teams of four pushing a full-sized round bale of straw weighing approximately 420 lbs and measuring 4' 6" in diameter over courses of differing length according to the class of race. The main course for the "180 veterans", and "The Open" is run over a full quarter of a mile through the village, both up and down hill, starting and finishing between the two village pubs - "The Cornishman" and "The Old Albion" Teams are invited to compete and help raise thousands of pounds for charity.

The Penultimate Summer Concert at the Killacourt sees Newquay Band providing wonderful tunes from 2pm on Sunday 11th September 2011. Formed in the year 1856 Newquay Band have been delighting visitors and residents of our beautiful Town ever since, so come along and support this joyous social event

17th - 18th Sept: Mens County Gig Racing Championship at Newquay Harbour
Newquay Harbour is the place to see the County Gig Rowing Championships on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September 2011. Racing will be held throughout the weekend with crews from all over Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly competing for glory. Gig racing is a true test of endurance, teamwork and strategy and has proved popular since the late 1800's.

30th â 1st Oct: Zapcat Powerboat Grand Prix at Fistral Beach
Fistral Beach is the place to be on Friday 30th September and Saturday 1st October to see the Finale of the Zapcat Championship. Racing takes place to decide the Winner of the Championship with a Presentation Evening and Awards Ceremony at Fistral Blu on the Saturday evening. This spectacular event is free to watch and always provides thrills and spills to excite and delight.
