May 2012: Success for The Esplanade Hotel at National Tourism Awards
The Esplanade Hotel was recognised as a finalist at the Coach Tourism Awards 2012, held in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The national awards scheme, supported by Visit England, recognises excellence across the coach tourism industry and includes tourist destinations and attractions, industry suppliers, and coach tour operators.
The Esplanade Hotel was a finalist in the Accommodation Provider of the Year - Individual Hotels category that recognises a commitment to welcoming coaches, coach groups and coach drivers.
These are the only national awards that focus specifically on the coach tourism industry, says the editor of Coach Monthly, Stuart Render.
Delivering a quality welcome to coaches, their drivers and their groups is becoming more and more important as destinations/attractions look to encourage more visitors/customers. The Esplanade Hotel was up against many of the UKs leading destinations/visitor attractions so being a finalist is therefore a well-deserved and a significant achievement. Coach tourism is worth about £2.35bn to Britain's economy and these awards are playing a key role in helping to raise quality across all sectors of the industry.
