Newquay’s new state-of-the-art cinema is now officially open.

The four-screen complex, is the first purpose-built fully-digital cinema in the South West has been given its name 'Lighthouse Cinema' because of the panoramic view from the top projection level of the building across Newquay Bay to Trevose Lighthouse.

Lighthouse Cinema, Newquay seats more than 650 people and features MasterImage 3D projection in two screens.

Family-run business WTW Cinemas owns and operates cinemas The Plaza in Truro , White River Cinema in St Austell and The Regal in Wadebridge. The new cinema in Newquay is the second phase of the company’s development plan, which included the construction and opening of St Austell’s White River Cinema in December 2008. The third stage will be the refit of the existing Plaza cinema in Truro in 2012.
