Reviewed 31 January 2012 Most of our stays at the Esplanade have been as part of a church weekend away - we take over the whole hotel - and our group of 250-270 puts quite a strain on the hotel's ability to function. But each year they not only survive, they offer incredible service, excellent food and comfortable facilities in the friendliest and most caring manner possible. Over the years there has been constant improvement, whether in the room upgrading, the increasingly ambitious and imaginative menu, the friendly spirit and teamwork of the enthusiastic staff, or the range of services on offer. The weekend is never long enough, and many of us come back to the hotel at other times of year simply because it is such a great place to be.
Several other churches from our city are now copying our example. All are delighted by the hotel. It isn't the Ritz or the Radisson Blu, but it's an extremely comfortable and welcoming environment with remarkably economical prices and an unexpectedly high standard of care and quality for a seaside hotel.
And no hotel in England has a more striking outlook from the dining room... except possible sister hotel The Bay, 200 yards further down!
Room Tip: There's quite a difference in outlook between rooms facing seawards, with a marvellous view to wake up to, and rooms facing back. The "classic" top-rank rooms are really superb, in a class by themselves.

The Esplanade has it all at sensible prices, nice rooms, great staff, excellent food and best of all it commands stunning views of Fistral Beach and beyond. This hotel will be my first port of call next time I'm down that way knowing that the consistency is guaranteed throughout the season. The only slight downer is the distance from Falmouth centre and a bus service that's a bit erratic, otherwise no complaints.
Room Tip: Seaview a must for the ultimate experience, just watching the breakers and surfers (when they're about) is awesome

This is an ideal place to stay if you are a family looking for a beach holiday as it's situated right on the Fistral Beach which is known for the best surfing in the country.
The hotel is clean, airy, comfortable and a lovely friendly vibe to it. There is a small indoor pool and play area for younger children and an outside play area at the back.
It's only a 10-15 minute walk into the town and there are some lovely coastal walks around the area with stunning views.
Room Tip: We chose a sea facing room for the views and to take advantage of the sea air with the windows open. The rooms at the back of the hotel can get very hot at night.

We stayed as part of a 2 night (Xmas) organised coach trip.
Really nice decor, lovely clean spacious room and although at rear with no sea view, the small balconies over-look the adventure park and would be ideal for parents to watch children from here.
The spacious front lounge area of Hotel great for relaxing, providing spectacular views over- looking Fistral Beach and the numerous surfers (!) literally a stones throw across the quiet road the Hotel is located in.
Extremely friendly, helpful staff, excellent food, restaurant staff presented a speedy efficient service and though busy bar queues kept to a minimum.
Unfortunately one night's entertainment was dire (!) however we found the only nearby pub, was a scenic 20 min walk from hotel. Pub was situated on cliff edge, lovely atmosphere & picturesque views, would not recommend walking here in dark, unless you take the much longer route, (v good local taxi service available though).
We did not use the spa & pool facilities, as we didn't have time, but it did look very welcoming with a variety of treatments available.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel on a five day, Turkey & Tinsel break, as part of an organised coach holiday. We found the facilities excellent as was the food. Our room was at the back of the hotel, and did not have a very good view but, as we only used it for sleeping etc.it wasn't a problem. We found all of the staff very pleasant and helpful, especially the YOUNG waiters/waitresses in the Dining room. They gave a very efficient and rapid service. The buffet breakfasts were really good and had plenty of choice ,Hot or Cold.
If this is the usual standard offered, we would certainly recommend it and would stay there again.

Reviewed 6 December 2011 We loved staying at the Esplanade, it seems a very well run hotel, with especially nice staff. This was our first visit but there seemed to be a lot of regular guests around us at dinner, which is a good sign. The location is great with super views over fistral beach.

Reviewed 23 November 2011 Me and my partner have stayed at The Esplande a few times, and also at its sister hotel The Bay Hotel. We love the Best Rooms, the view makes it worth the money ! Never really had any problems, just little things like no TV. Housekeeping walked in uninvited this time, but we were given a late check out for the innconvineince which i thought was really nice. All in all such a lovely place to go and relax. As i work in a hotel myself, i think im slightly more judgmental but this place is fantastic ! We will be back for our birthdays !! : )

Reviewed 18 November 2011 We are not usually creatures of habit but to say that we have stayed at the Esplanade 12 times says it all. The hotel, food and cleanliness are so good. We have just returned and booked again for next year...say no more!
Room Tip: We always pay a little bit extra for a sea view room. Looking over the beach and watching the surfers is wonderful.

Reviewed 2 November 2011 We stayed in a family room for 3 nights during half term week. We were very pleased with the large spacious room and reception staff were very wecoming. Our two downsides were the swimming pool was a bit on the chilly side, my daughter came back with blue lips, and the cost of the breakfast. I beleive under 5's should be free if we are paying £10 per adult and £5 per child! Fantastic location and we took the 3minute walk to the beach every day. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
